by Rainier on July 13, 2006 @ 10:27 a.m. PDT

Rebellion, known for Sniper Elite and Rogue Trooper, has received the Most Improved Studio of 2006 award issued by the Develop Industry Excellence Awards, an international event which recognises the achievements of the UK and European studios.

The award follows on from Rebellion’s most successful period to date. With both their major games launches, Sniper Elite and Rogue Trooper receiving critical and sales success, coupled with the acquisitions of the Core Design team and Strangelite studios, has brought the company to the forefront of the European development community.

Jason Kingsley, Creative Director and CEO said, ‘It’s an honour to even be nominated for the Develop awards, but to win one is fantastic! We have all worked very hard to get Rebellion in the position it’s in now, and to have this vote of confidence from our friends in the industry is very important’.

Chris Kingsley, COO added, ‘The past 2 years has been incredibly busy for us, continually focused on product quality and innovation and building on our IP development. But to be awarded for something we love doing really is fantastic, and on behalf of Rebellion, we’d like to thank everyone who has worked with us and helped us, especially our journalist friends and publishing partners. Thank you all’.
