'Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution' Announced

by Rainier on July 18, 2006 @ 5:12 p.m. PDT

Majesco and Konami today announced Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution. This Plug'N'Play product combines the high-energy dance gameplay of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) with Strawberry Shortcake characters and music, and plug right into your TV.

Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution lets players experience the exciting action of DDR with a Strawberry Shortcake twist. Featured characters include Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Torte, Lemon Meringue and Rainbow Sherbet dancing along with themed music such as "Straw- Buh-Buh-Buh-Buh-Berry Shortcake." As a Plug'N'Play product, Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution connects directly to a television set without a game console, delivering an interactive experience on a custom Strawberry Shortcake dance pad. The game features a two player mode and multiple difficulty settings that make it easy for players of all ages to enjoy, while the game's lively music makes it a great source of active fun for the whole family.

"Konami's Dance Dance Revolution franchise has shipped four million units in North America and has become a true cultural phenomenon," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing, Majesco Entertainment. "We're proud to add to this success with our new Strawberry Shortcake product that brings two strong properties together in a consumer-friendly, Plug'N'Play format."

Dance Dance Revolution is the only video game in which players move their body to upbeat tunes while allowing them to exhibit their own innovative flair and original dance moves. DDR combines quick reflex action with energetic dance music for intense "get-up-and-play" fun. Players are challenged to match their dance steps with the flashing arrows on the screen while keeping up with the music's beat. Since its home video game console debut in 2001, the DDR franchise has sold more than four million units in North America.

Developed and manufactured by Majesco, Strawberry Shortcake Dance Dance Revolution will be sold and distributed by Konami for launch this fall.
