Open Season (NDS/GBA/PSP/NGC/PS2/Xbox/X360/PC)
Developed by Ubisoft’s Montreal studio, Open Season allows gamers to relive the humor and adventure of the movie by creating a fun and immersive interactive world that mirrors the same comedic storyline, zany characters and amazingly artistic images projected in the animated film.
“Sony Pictures Animation, along with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, worked very closely with Ubisoft's award winning development team in Montreal to create a video game that stays faithful to the movie.” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. “This partnership allowed Ubisoft to seamlessly translate the character depth and humor of the movie’s storyline into a video game experience that remains true to the spirit of the film.”
Open Season is a riotous romp in the great outdoors, where the rowdy brood of forest animals turns the tables on a bunch of unsuspecting hunters. When a domesticated grizzly named Boog gets lured into leaving the creature comforts of home by a fast-talking mule deer named Elliot, he finds himself lost in the woods just three days before hunting season. Forced to “rough it” in the great outdoors, Boog goes native, rallying all the forest animals to take back their home and send the hunters packing. With the Open Season™ video game, players relive the movie experience by playing as Boog and Elliot.
Game features include:
- Interaction with Beth, Shaw and all of the animal favorites from the Open Season film.
- Players can throw skunk bombs, hurl rabbits, command acorn-firing squirrels and pull outrageous woodland pranks, guaranteed to scare the pants off the hunters.
- Follow along through all the madcap adventures, like rolling in a giant snowball, riding the rapids on a floating outhouse and zipping through tunnels in a crazy mine cart ride, as Boog discovers how to become a truly wild grizzly.
- Challenge friends in hilarious four-player mini-games.
Open Season is rated “E-10” for Everyone and has an MSRP of $49.99 for the Xbox 360, $19.99 for the PC and $29.99 for all other platforms.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (GBA/NDS)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon asks the question, "what if you woke up one day and you were a Pokemon?" Pokemon Mystery Dungeon starts players on an adventure unlike those found in any previous Pokemon game. Players awake to find that they have been transformed into a Pokemon. They choose one other Pokemon as a partner and set off to form a rescue team in a land ravaged by natural disasters. The players chat with Pokemon and make friends with more than 380 other Pokemon along the way. Players can accept rescue jobs to help fellow Pokemon who are in trouble. The deep storyline draws players in, while randomly generated dungeons keep them coming back for more.
An exciting feature in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon lets friends who each have a copy of the game come to each other's aid. If a player loses a battle in a dungeon, another player can come to his or her rescue. Fallen players who are rescued do not lose their money or items, and can restart their games from where they left off.
"Pokemon Mystery Dungeon offers millions of our Pokemon fans the chance of a lifetime," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "There's no better way to experience the world of Pokemon than by actually becoming one."
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for Nintendo DS and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team for Game Boy Advance SP will be available Sept. 20, and are Rated E for Everyone. Both games are almost identical in content, allowing the players to choose either one for the system they want to use. The Official Nintendo Power Player's Guide for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is now available at retail.
