Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

MX vs ATV Untamed (NDS/PSP/PS2/PS3/X360)

Rainbow Studios’ critically acclaimed physics have been supercharged with all-new improvements for next-gen action, featuring throttle based power-slides, near upside down whips and new scrubs at full speed, giving players more control than ever before while keeping the smooth, authentic feel not found in any other racing game. Players will compete in new event types, race with all-new vehicles and experience the ultimate X-Cross career mode, where they must conquer all eight vehicles, including the new ORV Sport. The largest, most detailed racing worlds to date will showcase all-new modes and event types, pitting racers against oversized logs, rocks, water pits and more in EnduroCross and let players tear through treacherous trails with all the machines competing against each other in Opencross. Stadium-based Supercross racing returns, with all the top Motocross and ATV professional riders, and the entire game will be available online.

“MX vs ATV Untamed has extremely broad consumer appeal, making it a must-have for core gamers, off-road racing fans and casual gamers,” said Dave Miller, director of global brand management, THQ. “Its vast open worlds, all-new event types and innovative career modes translate into the deepest off-road gaming experience to date and will help build on the franchise’s position as the world’s best selling off-road brand.”

“MX vs ATV Untamed is a tribute to Rainbow Studios’ ability to innovate with each new title and continuously develop triple-A, million-unit selling properties in a very competitive genre,” said Jack Sorenson, executive vice president of worldwide studios, THQ. “Their Rhythm Racing physics engine has proved adaptable across all platforms and contributed to everything from huge, beautiful next-gen open worlds to one-of-a-kind Wii racing functionality to extremely entertaining handheld game-play.”

MX vs ATV Untamed, rated “E” for everyone, is now available for X360 / PS3 ($59.99), PS2 / PSP ($39.99), NDS ($29.99), and is also scheduled to be released on the Wii in early 2008, utilizing the motion-sensitive controls to create an unprecedented interactive racing experience.

Rock Band (PS2)

Developed in collaboration with Pi Studios, Rock Band for the PlayStation 2 system showcases many of the same challenging modes and rock music featured in the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 video game entertainment system from Microsoft versions, including Band World Tour and Score Duel, which allows drum vs. drum, guitar vs. guitar and vocal vs. vocal play.

“Our team was honored to work side by side with Harmonix to create Rock Band for the PlayStation 2 and extremely proud of the result,” stated Robert Erwin, CEO of Pi Studios. “Together, we were able to deliver the addictive nature and brilliance of the core Rock Band gameplay while giving PS2 owners the ultimate rock experience just in time for the holidays.”

Rock Band invites players to interact with music like never before, challenging them to join a band and set out on tour – all while learning to master lead/bass guitar, drums and vocals. Featuring the most master recordings of any music game ever by the world’s biggest rock artists, Rock Band for the PlayStation 2 system includes 58 tracks and spans every genre of rock ranging from alternative and classic rock to heavy metal and punk.

The Rock Band Special Edition Bundle for the PS2 features a wireless Fender Stratocaster guitar controller, an electronic drum kit, real drum sticks, a microphone and software and has a suggested retail price of $159.99. Standalone Rock Band software for the PlayStation 2 system is also available for the suggested retail price of $49.99. Rock Band for PS2 and PS3 use the same instruments so players do not need to buy new instruments if they upgrade their console.

Rock Band, rated “T” for Teen, is also available on X360 and the PS3 in North America. Rock Band will ship to retail stores in Canada on Dec. 20th for the Xbox 360 and the PS3, and in Europe for the X360, the PS3 and the PS2 in the first quarter of 2008.
