by Rainier on May 15, 2007 @ 6:04 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Art of Fighting Anthology (PS2)

Art of Fighting Anthology is a comprehensive collection featuring the entire Art of Fighting trilogy. A total of 33 classic SNK characters are included, each with their own fighting styles and unique moves.

Art of Fighting was SNK's second fighting-game franchise, set in the same universe as the FATAL FURY franchise, and serving as a prequel to the FATAL FURY saga. The Art of Fighting series improved upon the tried-and-true 2D-fighter combat system with a spirit gauge that gave each player the ability to perform special attacks, as well as an innovative graphical-scaling camera system.

Etrian Odyssey(PS2)

In a land of peace and tranquility, the small town of Etria is troubled by a mysterious discovery. In the depths of the vast Etrian forest, a great rift has opened, a gaping maw twisting down into darkness and shadow ...

All who learn of the great labyrinth harbor dreams of exploring it, drawn by the promise of fame, wealth, and power. Treasures untold lie just beyond terrors unimaginable. Those daring enough to risk the labyrinth’s secrets to pursue these great wonders will be led along death’s razor edge. Do you dare to enter?

Etrian Odyssey has been rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB for Blood, Mild Fantasy Violence, and Mild Suggestive Themes.

MLB 07 The Show (PS3)

Adding to the already robust online feature set, online play becomes even more interactive on PS3 as players are "Always Online," allowing elements such as a scrolling MLB Score Ticker, Buddy Invites to occur at any point, and Online League Play with the ability to set up leagues with up to 30 teams, complete with statistical tracking, point benefits, and full customization. For those willing to toil as a rookie in order to become a future All-Star, MLB 07 The Show introduces the innovative "Road to The Show" mode, which enables fans to play solely as a custom-created rookie on both offense and defense while attempting to rise through the ranks and make a starting line-up in the Majors.

"MLB 07 The Show for PS3 demonstrates the commitment our developers have to delivering the most precise next-gen baseball title on the market," said Scott Rohde, director, sports product development, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Every pitch, batting stance, stadium, and even umpire personalities have been painstakingly replicated to ensure that our long, successful tradition of creating the most popular baseball simulation continues and solidifies the MLB franchise as a Hall of Famer."

Contributing to the realism, MLB 07 The Show for PS3 includes crowd interaction and ambiance including fans reaching for foul balls, vendors selling baseball fare, singing of the traditional 7th inning stretch, participation in the wave, standing ovations, unique stadium environments, and more. On the field, more than 3,000 individual player animations have been incorporated into the game, including personalized stances, pitching animations, individual swings, batting rituals and pitcher release points, player-scaled strike zones, and motion captures from MLB® players such as David Wright (MLB 07 The Show's Cover Athlete), David Ortiz, Eric Chavez, Shawn Green, and more. Additionally, MLB 07 The Show for PS3 incorporates more than 500 man-hours of development and analysis from the entire 2006 MLB season, which includes 18,891 at bats and 707,722 pitches in 2,429 games.

To deliver the closest experience possible to actually playing in the Majors, players have more control on the mound and in the field then ever before. The new Pitching Command System (PCS) provides authenticity and strategy to pitch selection by offering players a predetermined pitch comfort level based on a best to worst pitch scenario. Additionally, Adaptive Pitching Intelligence (API) allows users to either shake off the catcher or trust the calls he makes, based on batter tendencies and the pitcher's strengths. With updates to the Branch Point Technology, players can take full control of fielders allowing for incredibly smooth, fluid transitions for seamless double plays and relays.

Returning key features for the MLB franchise include the popular Career and Season Modes, controlled access to full 40-man rosters, downloadable rosters, advanced batting and base running controls, interactive hot and cold zones and the most comprehensive commentary ever produced for a sports game, featuring the three-man booth of Rex Huddler, Matt Vasgerian, and Dave Campbell.

The Independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates MLB 07 The Show "E" for "Everyone."
