Paramount and DreamWorks Drop Blu-ray Support
by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2007 @ 2:56 p.m. PDT
Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks will offer next-generation DVDs in the HD DVD format and drop support for Blu-ray, further complicating the race between the competing technologies. Previously, all of its movies were released in both formats, but manufacturing the HD-DVD discs and players is much cheaper, which prompted Paramount's decision.
