Skate (PS3/X360)
"EA brought me in early in the development of the game to make sure they were authentically representing the skate culture and the actual feeling of skating. I've been closely watching the game progress over the last few years and it's come a long way," said skate legend Danny Way. "I think this game is going to make a lot of heads turn. The team has done a tremendous job in capturing a realistic skate feel and the reward of landing tricks. It's a celebration of skating and not just focused on one man but everyone and everything that makes skating fun."
EA's release of the SKATE demo on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on August 15 garnered outstanding attention with over 600,000 downloads to date. The demo includes the innovative skate.reel feature where gamers can capture video footage of their skate session at any time during the game and share the footage online at www.skate.ea.com for other players to view, rate and comment on. Gamers will also be able to download a demo from the PlayStation Store soon. With innovative Flickit controls that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, SKATE delivers an authentic boarding mecca like no other videogame.
SKATE, developed by EA Black Box, is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and 12+ by PEGI, and will also ship in Europe on September 21 for Xbox 360 and October 5 for PS3.
Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power (PC)
"We are thrilled about the release of Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power", said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President for Paradox Interactive. "This is a high quality wargame that we've all spent a lot of time with and its bound to appeal to wargamers as well as strategy fans looking for a new challenge in a completely different setting"
Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power has been referred to by critics as one that "strategy wargame fans won't want to miss"* and introduces players to four unique races who battle for supremacy on the planet Saraksh. Each race posses and can easily develop distinguishable technologies, leading to the presence of vastly different heavy armoured units, transport units and aviation units on the battlefield. The battles take place among vivid extraterrestrial landscapes in 3D with day and night changes as well as dynamic weather conditions that affect the gameplay. In addition to the interesting story line, Galactic Assault offers a revolutionary tactical combat system with more than 70 unique units of great power and high-definition visuals that will immerse players in a horrendous story of war and survival.
