Demiurge Studios has secured new eco-friendly office space at 130 Prospect Street that will accommodate substantial growth in the company's co-development and independent projects.
The 130 Prospect Street Building, just two blocks from the studio's current location, was converted in 1989 into a modern commercial office building. This significant landmark maintained its historic charm while increasing efficiency and reducing its environmental impact. Currently 130 Prospect uses water-saving fixtures in bathrooms, environmentally safe cleaning products and maintains a building-wide recycling program.
"Our need for a new, larger office after barely two years shows the fantastic growth we've accomplished," said Albert Reed, Studio Director for Demiurge Studios. "The additional room to grow allows us to better serve our existing development partners and embark on the next level of video game development, creating our own IP."
To provide an inside look at just what it takes to move a busy games studio of over 25 professionals, Demiurge is launching a new blog with a series of entries documenting the process at www.demiurgestudios.com/blog/, from packing up to transforming the new space into a top-of-the-line studio, large enough to house double its current staff, a new testing lab, audio room and other amenities.
Demiurge will be moving after GDC this year, where they will be announcing exciting news regarding their latest project. The studio continues to play a vital role in major titles, partnering with leading publishers and developers including Gearbox Software, THQ, BioWare, and Harmonix Music Systems.
