Free Browser-Based RPG 'Warrior Quest' (PSP/Wii/PS3/PC) Gets Update #2

by Rainier on March 17, 2008 @ 8:31 a.m. PDT

Warrior Quest is a free browser-based traditional RPG adventure, putting you in the role of a young, aspiring Battle Master. NextGenBooks.com's second update adds worldwide leaderboards and rankings to its console- and PC-compatible casual fantasy adventure RPG, Warrior Quest.

With the addition of online leader boards and world rankings players will now have their levels ranked against other players from across the globe. By accessing Nextgenbooks.com through an appropriate internet browser, gamers using most PCs and consoles will be able to start their own quests to become the ultimate Battle Master. World rankings will be calculated on daily, weekly, monthly, and all time basis with future competitions to be announced in the coming weeks.

Warrior Quest launched in early 2008, an online RPG that has been optimized to run not only on PCs and Macs, but also on home consoles such as Wii and PS3. Since its launch, Warrior Quest has gathered a strong user base across all compatible formats, particularly the PS3 which has the largest console based audience playing this exciting online adventure. Little has been made of the PS3’s ability to play online games, up to this point, and the success of Warrior Quest on the system demonstrates that there is a strong demand for accessible and casual online gaming content for home videogame consoles that NextGenBooks.com is striving to provide.

Future updates of Warrior Quest are already in development with further refinements to the battle system, new player accessible Battle Cards to collect, and a more complete online experience that will allow players to chat with one another, across PC and console formats.

In addition to tailoring Warrior Quest for home consoles, a PSP compatible version is also being developed, tentatively scheduled for release March 20, 2008
