Vicious Cycle Software and the Indiana University School of Education announced that students at the university who aspire to become future game developers will have have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Vicious Engine, its cross-platform middleware development solution.

“With the flexibility that comes with Vicious Engine, students will be creating ‘serious games’ that are designed to teach various subjects of their choosing,” said Bob Appelman, associate professor of Instruction Systems Technology in the Indiana University School of Education. “This program will be part of an on-going project on the part of the university to study how people learn through games.”

“Vicious Engine was built from the ground up with accessibility in mind,” said Eric Peterson, president of Vicious Cycle Software Inc. “This engine and toolset will give aspiring serious game developers a chance to create engaging educational software, as well as give students applicable experience for their future.”

The Vicious Engine provides a comprehensive, easy-access suite of development tools that are accessible to all members of a software development team--from artists, to designers, to engineers. The Vicious Engine helps developers and publishers concentrate on game content rather than core technology.
