The AMD European Soccer Challenge 2008 online tournament presented by WCGZONE will kick off tomorrow, April 26th and continue through June 15th. Gamers from across Europe, as well as participants from other parts of world, are invited to compete in the four-ladder tournament with Electronic Art's FIFA 08 game. AMD and WCGZONE will offer a total prize package valued at US $100,000. In addition to a tournament for casual gamers, AMD and WCGZONE will invite the best 32 European players to participate in an All-Star tournament. The ladder tournament will be divided into four seasons. Players are permitted to register at any time during the ladder and join the competition by installing the 'GamOn' software, located on the WCGZONE website. In ladder tournaments, each competitor is ranked in skill according to the player's win/loss records. Wins against higher ranked players will move the player higher up on the ladder, while wins against lower ranked players will move the player only slightly up the ladder. This ensures that the best players will be at the top of the rankings at the end of the tournament.
