'A Stroke of Fate' Authenticity vs. Fiction #3 - Screens

by Rainier on May 7, 2008 @ 11:54 p.m. PDT

A Stroke of Fate is an interactive adventure/detective story framed in authentic surroundings of the fascist Germany in the 1940s. A gamer has a unique opportunity - to conduct a compelling investigation of the most mysterious secret veiled by the 20th century - Adolf Hitler's preterm death.

If you had the chance to change history would you? Could you?

In Germany hurtling towards the global catastrophe in the second world war, you step into the murky arena of international espionage as you try to alter the course of history and try and achieve what so many failed: the assassination of Adolf Hitler.

As a special agent trained in the latest sabotage techniques you have to infiltrate Hitler's inner circle and avoid the ever-watchful eyes of the ever-dangerous Gestapo. And they will be watching you, they always are...

A Stroke of Fate transports you into the world of the 1940s, mixing with the most hated figures in European history; Himmler, Goebbels, Muller and Hitler himself. While you are there though, do you have what it takes to achieve the impossible task that eluded so many others, the final solution to the Hitler problem?

A Stroke of Fate New Secrets Revealed Part #3

Victory Day (as we call that in Russia), or Victory in Europe Day (as it’s sometimes called by the Allies) is a very important day to remember. It’s not that we’re after pursuing and hurting those who might be “on the opposite side” during WWII. That’s all about memory and about raising our awareness of the fact that if you forgot about fascism, fascism isn’t necessarily so easy to forget about you.
Celebrated on 8 May (capitulation of Nazi forces to the Allies) or 9 May (when the German Instrument of Surrender was signed (in the midnight), it was already May 9 in the USSR and Eastern Europe), it doesn’t change the main thing – we’re all sharing the same history.

In anticipation of the holiday, we’re excited to offer you once again to peek at the past event as our new adventure, A Stroke of Fate, plunges you into the historical setting at the end of the war. Our main hero, Adolf Mayer, was in his forties in 1945 and, probably, hasn’t lived to see our days. But he would be happy to learn that the Day he was ready to die for is still celebrated across the globe!

Well, our view featured in A Stroke of Fate is quite obvious. Mayer did a hard job penetrating Hitler’s minions and just couldn’t let Müller go. Hitler’s pilot quoted Müller as saying "We know the Russian methods exactly”. Do you?

Key features:

  • Compelling pseudo-historical plot;
  • Ingenious brainteasers and quests to reflect German peculiarities of the 1940s;
  • Realistic graphics;
  • Authentic places and historically derived personalities: Muller, Goebbels, and Hitler;
  • You can walk along the Secret Police building and Hitler’s private study
