'Warhawk' (PS3) Paint & Insignia Contest Comes to Europe

by Rainier on June 9, 2008 @ 9:16 a.m. PDT

In Warhawk, players experience the thrill of white-knuckle aerial combat with swarms of enemy fighters, bone-crunching armored assaults and high-intensity infantry combat in a massive, all-out war fought both on the ground and in the skies.

Competition winners will see their design featured as part of a forthcoming collection of player-created Warhawk insignias and paint schemes

  • We’re looking for original and eye catching designs so be creative!
  • Dylan Jobe, Warhawk’s Game Director, and the rest of the development team at Incognito will pick the best paint and insignia schemes
  • Submit your entries via the official Warhawk forums or email them to us before 23nd June to qualify

If you’re a creative gamer with a taste for frenetic and action-packed online military battles then Warhawk on PS3 is for you. Playable online exclusively via PlayStation Network and available either by download from PlayStation Network or on Blu-ray disc, Warhawk pits teams of gamers from across the globe against one another in a melee of armed combat with squad action coordinated by live voice communication. Whether you wage war on foot, at the controls of a tank, a military 4x4 or from the cockpit of the fearsome Warhawk, there’ll be non-stop action ahead. You’ll join an elite online community of teams and clans: all with full stat-tracking support, rankings, leaderboards, badges and awards to recognise the most driven warriors on the battlefield. One piece of advice, in Warhawk, nowhere is safe, you’re always somebody’s prey.

Having been in the thick of the action for the past few months, we’re now looking for new insignias and paint schemes for the Warhawk and Nemesis aircrafts and we’re running an online competition to find the budding artists who can produce them! If you can conceive imaginative, eye catching and unique paint and insignia schemes, we want you to send us your design. The winning designs will then be incorporated into the forthcoming patch update. This will allow all Warhawk players from across Europe to use them in-game to customise their troops and aircraft.

Entries will be judged by a panel from Incognito studios that will include Dylan Jobe, Warhawk’s Game Director. In order to qualify you must submit your design before by 22nd June 23h59 GMT – so get busy designing.

To take part in this cool competition, all you have to do is design a new insignia or paint scheme (or both!) – guidance on how to do this, plus technical restrictions and eligibility requirements, can be found on eu.playstation.com or on the official Warhawk forums.

In Warhawk, players experience the thrill of white-knuckle aerial combat with hundreds of enemy fighters, bone-crunching armored assaults and high-intensity infantry combat in a massive, all-out war fought both on the ground and in the skies.

During gameplay, players are tasked with protecting their homeland from the invading Chernovan armada. By doing so, players take command of the most advanced war machine in the fleet, the Warhawk, capable of aerobatic dogfights at high speeds or hovering over ground troops providing tactical support. Players continue the battle on foot with an arsenal of weaponry including pistols, rifles, grenades and more. Furthermore, players can gain access to an array of ground vehicles and lay waste with powerful weapons mounted on jeeps, tanks and specialty transports.

The graphics and power of PS3 set the stage for a truly unique Warhawk universe filled with hundreds of on-screen vehicles and troops, floating battleships, cruisers and carriers, captivating landscapes, destructible cities, and vibrantly detailed environments for both off- and online gameplay.

Warhawk is currently available for download or Blu-Ray ($60, but includes a Bluetooth headset.)
