“When we were doing the motion capture for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, we went to incredible lengths to get the real guns” explains Executive Producer Sion Lenton. “This is because the weight of the guns can actually affect the way the animation looks.”

“Every vehicle in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has its own characteristics: look, handling, turnout, weaponry and so on,” Lenton continues. “Everything from the smallest jeep to the largest chopper has a completely different handling experience.”

“The damage in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is pretty gruesome,” says Mike Smith, Art Lead “It’s pretty much realistic – if you get hit by a large round, you’re very likely to have serious trauma to your body. We represent damage with several different visual stages. For example, you’ve got blood that seeps through clothes and then you’ve got catastrophic damage, which is actually losing your limbs or having your head blown off.”

Combatants are shown using surveillance to recon targets, infiltrating buildings, engaging in close and ranged fire-fights and deploying vehicles including the AH6 and MI-17 ground attack helicopters and the M1A2 battle tank. The trailer brings to life Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising's uniquely tense multiplayer experience, as the 220km² island of Skira becomes an authentic and spectacular online war zone where players can attack or be attacked from any direction.

In addition to the campaign, the game’s individual single missions, once completed, can be set up as self contained co-op games. This enables players to jump straight to their favourite missions have up to 3 players to join as part of their unit. Co-op play also offers re-spawn points at checkpoints gameplay that encourages the fire team to stick together.
