by Rainier on Oct. 29, 2009 @ 3:45 a.m. PDT

The Nintendo DSi is 12% slimmer, sports 3.25-inch screens, does away with the GBA slot but adds an SD card adapter (download from the web and load off the card), allows you to play music and has two 3-megapixel cameras (one on the inside, the other on the outside). The DSi will become available in Japan on Nov. 1 for 18900 yen ($180) and will also be able to surf the web and catalog your photos in a flipbook or port them to the Wii. Nintendo will also launch a DSi Shop where you can download titles for free, or purchase them for either 200, 500, or 800 points (DSi comes with 1000 points free).

Confirming rumors that surfaced earlier this week, At a press event in Tokyo, Nintendo unveiled a new version of the Nintendo DS, the NDSiLL. Scheduled to launch in Japan next month already (Nov. 21) the new handheld sports a 4.2 inch screen (a 93% increase over the old version), and will retail for ¥20,000 ($220 USD).

The bigger screen was oft requested by customers, allowing the NDSiLL to be used for internet surfing, music playing and will come with two touch pens (a short and a long one), includes three pre-installed DSiWare titles, DS Easy Dictionary, and will be available in three colors (natural white, dark brown, and wine red).

While there is no confirmation yet when the NDSiLL will come to North America, Nintendo Europe confirmed it for Q1 2010.
