Ubisoft seems to be weathering the down economy pretty well, with solid financial results, no layoffs, but studio acquisitions instead. Its Red Storm studio, known for the Rainbow Six franchise, is also on the move, literally, as on May 1, 2009 it will be moving into a new 35,000 square feet office in Cary, North Carolina for the next 10 years.

Ed Fritsch, President and CEO of Highwoods Properties stated, “We are pleased to welcome Ubisoft Red Storm as a new Highwoods customer and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship. Congratulations also to our Raleigh leasing team for their hard work in attracting this highly sought after customer.”

“Red Storm’s roots are in North Carolina,” said Steve Reid, managing director and executive vice president of Ubisoft Red Storm. “Now with more than 12 years of game development and more than 150 employees, we are excited about this new lease agreement to maintain a local presence and to meet the opportunities in our industry.”
