On-field authenticity and emotion is taken to another level in Madden NFL 10. With more control over the outcome of the play than ever before, players can drag defenders towards the first down marker, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and avoid the rush by stepping up into the pocket.

The storied football franchise ushers in a new era with advancements that bring the NFL fan everything they see on Sundays, minus the grass stains.

On-field authenticity and emotion is taken to another level in Madden NFL 10. With more control over the outcome of the play than ever before, players can drag defenders towards the first down marker, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and avoid the rush by stepping up into the pocket. Utilizing an all-new animation technology, Madden NFL 10 ensures that the Fight For Every Yard doesn’t end until the whistle blows.

Madden NFL 10 on the Wii introduces a unique, genre-defining art style that will raise the bar for sports games on the console. Completely redesigned and built from the ground up, Madden NFL 10 epitomizes what fun looks like on the Wii and will deliver a social, dynamic experience for the entire living room.

This year, Madden NFL 10 arrives on the Wii with breath-taking visuals that will captivate both seasoned veterans and new comers to the franchise. Completely redesigned and built from the ground up, Madden NFL 10 introduces a unique art style that will define the look of sports games on the Wii. All-new player models embody characteristics of your favorite athletes, plus new larger-than-life stadiums showcase the unique details found at each of the 32 NFL fields.

As Madden NFL 10 Wii designer Matt Read says, “You’ll be hard pressed to find a pixel that hasn’t been touched in Madden NFL 10 for the Wii.”

The new art style found in Madden NFL 10 Wii exudes fun and preserves the elements of authentic NFL football you have come to expect from the Madden NFL franchise. From the uniforms to the stadiums, you will find all the details you see on Sunday.

All-New Player Models

The Madden NFL 10 Wii art team strived to inject personality into each of the five body types showcased on the field. Each player model (quarterback, strong safety/running back, lineman, linebacker and wide receiver/defensive back) includes shapes that emphasize the personality of the player. For example, shoulder pads and thigh pads have been designed to work with a player’s build and to reinforce their particular shape. Each player model type has a unique body, head, helmet, and specifically designed wrinkles and shadows.

  • Wide Receiver/Defensive Back—his tall and lean frame is indicative of his speed, agility and ability to snatch any ball that comes his way.
  • Linebacker—his solid, muscular body warns that he plans to knock your block off.
  • Quarterback—his wide shoulders and small waist emphasize the “heroic leader” look.
  • Lineman—this hulking mass lets you know he is there to stop you in your tracks.
  • Strong Safety/Running Back—his compact body features muscular thighs that convey strength and speed.

Player uniforms have been recreated with even greater authentic detail than in previous years, including the team-specific name font on the back of the jersey.

All-New Stadiums

To complement the all-new player models, the Madden NFL 10 Wii art team aimed to create a stylized world built around its characters. The Madden NFL 10 Wii team studied all 32 NFL stadiums to create designs that are true to their real-life counterpart, but are also larger-than-life. To create this sentiment, the art team pushed the sense of scale so that each stadium feels massive. They also ensured that if there is a unique feature in an NFL stadium, then it is featured in the game. Even the edge wall graphics have been redesigned to remain true to the NFL and still feel right at home on the Wii.

From the pirate ship in Tampa, to the Bronco statue in Denver, and the ketchup bottles in Pittsburgh, each stadium in game captures the uniqueness found within the actual version of the stadium.

The stadium crowds have also been completely revamped. Looking at years past, the team’s primary and secondary colors were peppered throughout the crowd. If you played in Seattle, you would see navy blue and bright green only. This year, the crowd members were designed to fit with the new art style, featuring a greater range in each team’s color palette and wearing team gear such as jerseys. These adjustments allow the crowd to rest much more naturally in the environment.
