'Global Agenda' Goes on Tour, QuakeCon is Up Next

by Rainier on Aug. 11, 2009 @ 4:51 a.m. PDT

A departure from the traditional online settings of high fantasy, outer space, or military, Global Agenda, powered by the Unreal Engine 3, is set on 22nd century Earth. An invisible war is fought not with armies, but with elite teams of highly trained and well-equipped special agents, where technology is a race, knowledge is power, and everyone has an agenda.

In the wake of severe global disaster, the political face of 22nd century earth has changed. Player created factions scheme against each other for power while simultaneously opposing a totalitarian world government bent on domination. Traditional full-scale wars a thing of the past, factions must rely on covert agencies, teams of elite special operatives able to seize and defend key facilities. The future of humanity is their battleground, where knowledge is power, technology is a race, and everyone has an agenda.

The players are truly in control of Global Agenda, forging alliances with their peers and executing lightning strikes against their enemies. They determine which factions to aid and which to oppose, while the only thing that stands in their way is other agencies.

Hi-Rez Studios announced initial dates and locations for the Global Agenda North American Tour, providing fans of the upcoming action MMO a unique opportunity to meet the games’ developers and experience Global Agenda’s fast-action play style and intense class-based combat hands-on.

Initial tour dates include events in Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Philadelphia and Las Vegas, and build on the game’s highly successful showings at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March and E3 in Los Angeles in June,  where Global Agenda walked away with several high-profile awards from the gaming press.

"Global Agenda’s rapid-pace gameplay and unique combat system is best experienced hands-on," said Executive Producer Todd Harris. "So we are very excited to take the game on the road and expose the rest of the world to the game that we’ve all grown addicted to playing."

Initial tour dates include:

  • Dallas, Texas QuakeCon August 13 - 15
  • Atlanta, Georgia DragonCon September 4
  • Seattle, Washington Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) September 4-6
