by Rainier on Nov. 25, 2010 @ 12:19 a.m. PST

Starting today, BBC content, such as Top Gear and Doctor Who, including titles from the popular television network BBC America will be available on PlayStation Store in the US for PS3 and PSP.

“Top Gear,” one of the BBC’s most popular series, will be available for download starting today with episodes from the U.S. version, produced by BBC Worldwide Productions and airing on HISTORY, and for two weeks (complimentary episode available through Dec. 7, 2010.), PlayStation Network registered users can download the first episode for free (regular price $1.99 (SD)/$2.99 (HD) per episode).

The video section of the PlayStation Store will rapidly add BBC programming each week, including the best of the BBC’s library as well as currently airing series.  Both “Doctor Who,” the critically acclaimed science fiction series, and popular supernatural dramedy “Being Human” will hit the PlayStation Store in December.
