by Rainier on Dec. 10, 2010 @ 10:29 a.m. PST

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

We will update this throughout the day when new announcements become available. Read more for details ...

Survivor (NDS/Wii)

In the Wii version of Survivor, up to 4 players compete for survival in 24 island challenges straight out of the TV show. Featuring the voice of the Survivor host Jeff Probst, Survivor has 16 playable characters, who separate into two tribes – Tribe Jalapao or Tribe Timbira.  Supporting the Wii Balance Board™ accessory, this game can get truly physical as each player fights for their tribe’s honor.  It will take a lot to conquer this island and become the sole survivor.

Survivor on the Nintendo DS system drops players on an untamed island and pits them against a diverse cast of characters, who each have their own story and motivation.  Just like in the TV version, players forage for a variety of resources to feed the tribe and build shelter. There is only one survivor in this game, though, and to be the last player standing players will need to use their political savvy to know who to align with, whose side to be on during an argument and who to win over with favors.  Players can choose to go it alone or compete against a friend via wireless DS multi-card play.

Survivor is a household name around the world, and we are excited to bring the video game versions of this popular CBS show to North America.” said Glenn Halseth, CEO of Valcon Games.  “Survivor developer Mindscape has really captured the essence of the show in these games, and we are thrilled to be their partners.

Greed Corp. (PC)

The first in a series of games based in the rich Mistbound universe, Greed Corp is set in a world of feudal warfare and environmental destruction through industrial consumption. As one of four warring factions your aim is territorial domination, but at what cost? Can you find the delicate balance between harvesting the land for resources and preserving it to stay alive? Will you defend your territory or sacrifice it to keep it out of enemy hands?

Featuring an innovative land-collapsing mechanic, which constantly alters the strategic landscape, you must destroy your enemies or the very land they stand on before they do it to you.  Build Harvesters to reap your land for credits and spend them on armories and cannons. Manufacture walkers to conquer enemy territory and order carriers to transport your troops across the map. Ultimately, defeat your enemies by eliminating their troops and destroying or capturing their structures.

Key New Features

  • Tutorial – completely overhauled to now convey the mechanics, strategies, consequences and overall gameplay nuances required to be successful
  • Campaign – the difficulty and level progression requirements have been eased. The time per turn allowed for each faction is now different beginning with unlimited time in the Freemen campaign, the first campaign played. Winning a level is also no longer required to progress with the introduction of a new points based mechanic. Points unlock new maps
  • AI – players no longer have to wait for the game AI to finish its turn. Just hit the ‘End Turn’ button
  • Steam Integration – full integration of Steam functionality including Steam Achievements
