by Rainier on March 5, 2010 @ 4:57 a.m. PST

independent driving game developer Eutechnyx has appointed Ed Martin, previously director at EA responsible for its NASCAR franchise, as Executive Vice President, North America, as it continues its ambitious expansion drive.

Prior to EA Sports, Ed was Executive Producer at Hasbro Interactive, where he built a $30million business across six critically-acclaimed number-one-selling games.  He joined Hasbro from Papyrus, the legendary developer of PC auto racing simulations.

"When it comes to American racing games, Ed Martin is the man," says Darren Jobling, COO of Eutechnyx. "His experience and enthusiasm for the sport of competitive racing are absolutely second-to-none, and he's going to be an invaluable asset to Eutechnyx as we enter into our most exciting year yet."

"The passion and independence of Eutechnyx are incredibly exciting and certainly unique in the gaming world today," adds Ed Martin, Executive Vice President, Eutechnyx. "But this is the heritage of every great gaming company out there, and to me, the core of producing great games and being a great company.  I'm thrilled to become part of that team in what will no doubt be a defining year in our history."

Eutechnyx will be announcing its next title in May 2010.
