Specifically designed for the Wii system, this unusual gameplay offers a real learning curve while remaining accessible to everyone. Six colorful characters are playable, each with his/her own car and unique weapon. Many power-ups can be found along the tracks and a 4 player mode in split-screen is also present.
The universe of Racers’ Islands : Crazy Racers, previously known under the codename Shoot the drivers : Project 1, will also be presented through a comic book. The idea is to explore and to expand the game’s background further.
Illustrated by Studio 109 and scripted by Hubert Chardot (scriptwriter of such games as Alone in the Dark 1, 2 and 3) this comic book will reveal the characters’ past. Just like the game, it will be sold only through digital distribution.
Our main idea is to create original universes that we can develop through different medias. “At Zallag, we’re all fans of both video games and comic books. Therefore, it seemed natural to us to work with these two medias. Indeed, they offer great opportunities in terms of creation and innovation” says David Costarigot, co-founder of Zallag. “We wish for this transmedia approach (presenting different sides of a same universe through various medias) to be qualitative. One is not the by-product of the other. That’s why at Zallag, we wanted to work with professionals for each of our projects” he adds.
Racers’ Islands: Crazy Racers will let you embody one of 6 hero characters, each with his/her own vehicle and favorite weapon
The originality of the gameplay relies on the fact that it doesn’t focus exclusively on driving cars. You will also have to target and shoot with the character’s weapons if you want to mount the podium!
A brand new gameplay perfectly adapted to the accessibility of the Wii. Aim and shoot with your Wii Remote, drive with your Nunchuk. It’s up to you to climb a genuine learning curve! It might sound hard to handle both at the same time, but don’t panic! You can share the load with friends: one has the wheel while the other pulls the trigger.
