'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' (ALL) Multiplayer Beta Delayed

by Rainier on Oct. 31, 2011 @ 12:19 p.m. PDT

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered 12 years ago, featuring new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content, as well as new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

Last month Valve revealed that the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta would start in October, but with that date having past Valve's Chet Faliszek disclosed that the beta has been postponed until a yet to be determined new date. The reason for postponing the multiplayer beta was due to feedback Valve received from professional Counter-Strike, and the developers want to implement some of those changes first. When it does launch, the initial phase will include about 10,000 people and then gradually more players will be let in.

CS: GO will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

Arsenal Mode is based on the popular Counter-Strike: Source mod Gun Game. "Arsenal: Arms Race" and "Arsenal: Demolition" add eight new maps and expand on the classic Counter-Strike gameplay.

Valve is working directly with creators of Gun Game to create  Arsenal Mode. "We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of  Gun Game.", Michael Barr project lead of Gun Game.
