Based on the events that unfold in the saga's first eight episodes, XIII: Lost Identity pitches gamers and XIII together in scenes that combine 3D and comic book.
And just as in the book itself, the action begins with the player washed up on the beach, injured and unconscious. Given shelter by strangers, he discovers that he has lost his memory. With hitmen out to kill him, the player embarks on a quest for survival and the truth about a conspiracy involving the assassination of the President. In making their way their way through the story, players have to negotiate a series of situations in which they are exposed to varying degrees of danger. As well as finding objects hidden in the backgrounds, they must piece together evidence, defuse bombs and solve puzzles.
Players can also use objects in their interactive inventories and the indicator bar to help them progress. In doing so, they come across the saga's most charismatic characters: Major Jones, General Carrington, Colonel Amos and La Mangouste, to name but a few.
