Supercell announces its existence, with an all-star dev team comprised of ex-Remedy (Alan Wake), Digital Chocolate (Millionaire City) and Sulake (Habbo Hotel) devs and execs, an all-star investment team and a fantastic new entry in the online RPG genre.
With 3D avatars and striking visuals, Gunshine.net takes browser games into the next generation of game design.
Gunshine.net is the brainchild of Finland-based Supercell, a team of videogame developers with experience across a wide range of platforms. The five founding members each have a decade's experience in their chosen specialty. This experience and reputation for quality has helped Supercell attract investment from London Venture Partnets, Initial Capital LLP, Cerval Investments and Lifeline Ventures.
In the spirit of open development and taking our users' needs seriously, Gunshine.net recently entered an invitation-only closed beta. By soliciting player feedback as early as feasible in the development process, users and developers can work together to create a unique and fulfilling game experience.
“We started this company with the belief that the web browser will be the place where core games and social networks can merge. We envisioned Gunshine.net as a top-quality title that would link the power of browser-based games (easy accessibility combined with superior reach) to social networks, improving players' perceptions of the depth they can experience in a social online game. Based on early feedback, we're very confident that we've managed to blend the sophistication of core games with social gaming, and that's exactly what Supercell is looking to push and promote now and in the future, ” says Ilkka Paananen, CEO of Supercell.
