Nintendo Confirms Wii Successor For 2012

Nintendo confirmed recent rumors that it is working on a successor to the Wii, scheduled for launch in 2012. Wii U includes a controller with a 6.2-inch screen. Adding a second screen to the living room creates a multitude of new video game experiences while offering families a variety of options to customize their entertainment.
The first details are expected to the unveiled at the E3 conference in June according to the statement, “We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.”
Recent rumors pegged the new console to be as powerful, or slightly better, as the current PS3/X360, and a touch screen controller.
