GamesCampus.com announced that its open beta test for its fantasy MMORPG, Scarlet Legacy will begin on August 18th. Players will get their next opportunity to try out their fighting skills with ten new levels, a couples system, a pet system and much more, including over $40,000 USD in cash prizes on the line in the most valuable guild challenge to date!

Starting from open beta until the end of September, guilds will compete for the top ten spots in ranking. The top guild will receive a total of $15,000 in cash prizes, $10,000 in cash and $5,000 in campus credits, Games Campus game currency. The remaining $25,000 will be split between the next nine top guilds.

"Alongside our massive guild event, we're also unveiling the new couples system, along with adding a plethora of content for higher level players," said Uyen Uyen Ton Nu, Head of Marketing at GamesCampus. "It's the best chance to jump straight into Scarlet Legacy with your friends and guild mates and carve out a name in Scarlet Legacy!"

While the contest is front and center in the open beta, Scarlet Legacy is adding an abundance of new content starting Thursday. Additional content will include a new level cap of 40, including a whopping 60 options for skill leveling, as well as ten new stances.

With over 75 added quests, a rich storyline awaits players returning from CBT. Two new stores offer a staggering 180 extra items, plus the addition of more than 115 crafting recipes and more drop designs. Altogether, the new items, equipment, and weapons brings the total to over 400 freshly minted pieces for players to acquire and show off!

Open beta will also unveil two new zones (Turbo Lakeside and Xing City), another section of the Practice Tower (Furnace Cave, for levels 31-39), and a new dungeon, the Mumbling Temple, aimed at levels 37-40. Players can expect upcoming events including the Master's Challenge and Cavalier's Deathmatch.

Followers of the Magic Mirror will be happy to see the addition of level 31-40 Princess dialogue.  Three new pets accompany level 31-40 pet levels and their accompanying talents.  Last but not least is the couples system, which will allow players to pair up for special perks and bonuses, and a little bit of romance.
