'Deep Black' (ALL) Publisher Dispute Resolved, Game Gets Reloaded

by Rainier on Jan. 17, 2012 @ 12:16 p.m. PST

Deep Black combines action-packed battles with an immersive story line, of complex science-fiction mystery, espionage and bio-terror. Offering realistic physics in an underwater environment brings new “depths” to in-game challenges in Deep Black.

Deep Black is driven by a thrilling story. As leader of a deep sea elite force the player will compete against ruthless bio-terrorists who are planning and carrying out their activities from the ocean floor. In comprehensive missions the goal is to infiltrate hidden sub-aqueous bases and to battle against mighty enemies using modern high-tech equipment. At the same time Deep Black keeps an ideal balance between underwater action and terrain fights. As the mission design will attach the same level of significance to both settings, a huge variety is guaranteed.

Deep Black is affected by total freedom in action, tactical fights, special weapon modes and brilliantly designed environments. As leader of the counter terrorist unit the player will definitely never get bored. During the single player campaign he fights his way through 30 extensive levels in a science-fiction world, characterized by terror, chaos, spying and the battle for world supremacy. Different opponents cross his path: whether drones, submarines, cyborgs, giant robots or human opponents – three levels of difficulty will keep both first-time users and advanced shooter experts on their toes.

BIART´s underwater engine guarantees unique and realistic effects like undulation, water distortion and dynamic light play. Outstanding graphics and fully 3D Vision technology supported by Nvidia create a harmonious atmosphere that can also be enjoyed in stereoscopic 3D.

The initial point for the conflict was a contractual misunderstanding which has neither affected the development status nor the product quality. “Deep Black: Reloaded” is a heavily improved version of the original Deep Black game, which will offer brand new gameplay mechanics and a modified AI. In addition to all gameplay improvements the developer also included motion control to its third person shooter.

Both contractual partners are happy to continue the partnership and to realize “Deep Black: Reloaded” as it was originally projected:

“We are happy that the parties have reached consensus. After I left the Russian company and set up a company in the USA, we had to work on the IP’s we owned. We not only got all projects from the Russian company, but also considerably improved their quality. Deep Black: Reloaded is based on a brand new version of the biEngine technology.” – Konstantin Popov, CEO Biart Company LLC.

“We are happy that players get a high quality production that differs greatly from the previous version. The game officially supports NVIDIA 3D VISION READY, and also supports Razer® Hydra controller. Deep Black: Reloaded is optimized for Intel Sandy Bridge, which means it will run well on Ultrabooks. Furthermore the game offers a lot of new content and improved gameplay.” -  Christian Sauerteig, Director Sales & Licensing Just A Game GmbH.
