'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' (ALL) Dragonborn DLC Details, Coming to PC/PS3 In 2013

by Rainier on Dec. 3, 2012 @ 5:46 p.m. PST

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim re-imagines the open-world fantasy RPG epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world for you to explore any way you choose.

The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.

While X360 fans can expect the Dragonborn DLC to drop tomorrow (1600 MS points), PC and PS3 gamers will have to wait until 2013 to be able to download the new content. While the PS3 delay is not such a great surprise, Bethesda after all has confirmed that technical issues are the cause for no DLCs and are working on it, the PC delay seems a bit odd.

The Dragonborn DLC story kicks off with players coming under attack from Cultists of Miraak and once they figured out who was the cause for the violence player will board their boat docked at Windhelm and embark to Solstheim to continue the journey.

New content will be plenty as players will encounter plenty of new cratures (new dragons, but also Werebears, Lurkers, Ash Spawn, Rieklings, The Morag Tony, etc.), new weapons and armor (Deathbrand Armor, Boneold Armor, Chitin Armor, Carved Nordic weapons and armor, Spears, Robes), as well as new spells Poison Rune, Ash Shell, Waterwalking, Whirlwind Cloak).

Ten new achievements are of course also included amounting to 250 Gamerscore.
