War Thunder is the flight combat MMO action game set in the Golden Age of military aviation, and will throw players into a never-ending tussle for air dominance.
War Thunder will feature a wide range of warbirds, each of them unique in their effectiveness and behavior. Virtual pilots will choose from three main warplane classes - single-engine light fighters capable of engaging enemies in close dogfights, heavy fighters with their deadly straight attacks, and strafing aircrafts, the fearsome threat for ground targets.
Every plane will feature multiple variations of ammo types, engines, and other crucial modules, and their various combinations will allow to pick the optimal configuration for the most effective behavior in combat.
It’s been one year since the Open Beta for War Thunder has been cleared for takeoff and in 12 months over 5 million players joined the universe to mix it up in aerial dogfights piloting the most deadly WWII planes in history.
Over the course of one year almost a hundred new planes were added to the game alongside with new, exciting modes and improvements. War Thunder was released in Steam and became the first Russian game announced for PlayStation 4 and the next generation of consoles.
“To those who have served, and to those who continue to step up to answer the call of duty in War Thunder – we salute you! In your honor Gaijin Entertainment is organizing Golden Battles on November 3rd and 10th – this is a good chance for all players to improve their balance and get a unique decal to decorate their planes!” said Anton Yudintsev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment.
Over five million players already know the enjoyment of raining down aerial destruction via the PC-version of War Thunder and this fan base continues exponential growth. War Thunder is currently in Open Beta on PC, in development for Mac OS and Oculus Rift and will be a PS4 launch title.
War Thunder is designed as a free-to-play game with inclusion of additional paid content. The list of features that can be purchased, for very reasonable prices, includes: historical campaign (a set of storyline-based missions that recreate historically correct events of WWII); leveling boost; several premium aircraft; full access to the dynamic campaign and quick mission editor, and additional options. However the general game modes and the majority of War Thunder’s rich content will always remain free. This will help Gaijin to maintain in-game balance, as the paid features have been designed so as not to give purchasers an unfair advantage.
