The central conflict encompasses a trio of diverse, competing realms - Arthurian, Tuatha Dé Danann and Viking - each seeking to assert its dominance over an open and persistent world reflecting the universally familiar but greatly re-imagined Camelot and European mythos. All aspects of this RvR-focused MMORPG are tied into and support the three realms' ongoing battle for superiority and control. The player housing and crafting systems will also be very significant components and both key closely into the RvR theme.
"Camelot Unchained isn't a game with something for everyone," said Mark Jacobs. "Instead, we're aiming it at a niche audience of dedicated RvR-focused MMORPG players. We've tried very hard to incorporate our community's ideas and suggestions into our pledge rewards, even going as far as show the preliminary tiers in order to get feedback before the start of our Kickstarter."
The 30-day campaign is now online with a goal of $2 million. If it's successful, Mark Jacobs will add $2 million himself to the development funding, and other investors will contribute a further $1 million. As befits an MMORPG, the pledge tiers are highly customizable through a system of Founders Points that will allow each backer to select his or her personal favorites from an extensive variety of almost 100 in-game items, skins and other perks, many of which will never be available again. Certain packages are being offered in limited quantities, some also on a non-repeatable basis.
"Our entire team is tremendously excited to launch our Kickstarter campaign," Jacobs stated. "If it funds, we will know beyond any shadow of doubt that there's an audience eagerly waiting for the chance to play our type of game."
