'Mad Max' (ALL) Getting Aussie Accent

by Rainier on July 2, 2013 @ 8:57 p.m. PDT

Mad Max is a new open world, third-person action game where players become Mad Max, a lone warrior in a savage post-apocalyptic world where cars are the key to survival.

Mad Max will deliver dynamic, open-world gameplay where gamers fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using brutal on-ground and vehicular combat against vicious gangs of bandits. Players are challenged with treacherous missions as they scavenge the dangerous landscape for supplies to build the ultimate combat vehicle.

When Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment announced Max Mad at E3 2013 fans were up in arms when it was revealed that an American voice actor was picked to play the role of Mel Gibson, an Australian. A petition was launched shortly thereafter asking WBIE to reconsider, and now 2,800 signatures later Avalanche Studio founder Christofer Sundberg acknowledged the fans request confirming that the developer will including an Aussie accent in Mad Max (which does not neccesarly mean it will be a native speaker, could be an American doing an Australian accent).

Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard.
