Loki is at it again, and in an act of brutal mischief steals Odin’s remaining good eye. Thor and the other gods are too busy partying. Blind as a bat Odin is left with desperate measures: he raises four of the most fearsome Zombie Vikings – Gunborg, Seagurd, Hedgy and Caw-kaa – out of the Norse soil. This putrid posse is sent on an epic quest through the most wondrous of worlds to retrieve The Eye, and to make peace with their rotten pasts.
Hack through the boiling gingerbread swamps of Molgaga, cruise the intestines of the Midgard Serpent, fight giant troll poultry and find out how Söccer was really invented. Fans of the studio’s extraordinary style will not be disappointed.
“Our ancestors are probably spinning in their graves as we are turning the stupid-fun dial up to eleven,” says Klaus Lyngeled, CEO of Sweden-based Zoink Games. “But we’re having so much fun with this. We’re putting an enormous amount of work into script, character design and voice acting.”
“The first scene they had me write involved rescuing Odin’s eye from a witch’s ass,” says Weinersmith. “And they’re paying me for this. Life is good. It’s so cool to get to work on a project like this. Zoink is working hard to take a quirky setting and give it real characters, and I’m excited to be a part of that. Awesome!”
“We’ll have news about the game every week, and in January we’ll start a monthly series of making-of movies,” he says. “There’ll be lots of art, insights, jokes and crying. Oh, and weird Nordic gibberish. It’ll be just like going to Ikea, but a lot less meatballs and a lot more hacking,” says Zoink Games' Klaus Lyngeled.
