'WildStar' Goes Open Beta For 10 Days

by Rainier on May 6, 2014 @ 12:36 p.m. PDT

WildStar offers epic high adventure, where players make their mark as Explorers, Soldiers, Scientists or Settlers and lay claim to a mysterious planet on the edge of known space.

WildStar’s iconic visual style and “Momentum Mechanics” immerse players in a deep world stacked with content, challenges and rewards that respond to the play style choices of individual players.  Depending on a combination of faction, race, class and path, WildStar will present gamers with unending surprises, mini-quests and challenges, ensuring that their experiences are fun and fresh.

WildStar takes place on the planet Nexus, a mysterious world vacated by the ancient Elden but left rich with treasures and technologies to discover and acquire.

NCSOFT and Carbine announced that WildStar is going Open Beta for 10 days starting on Thursday, 8th May through 18th May, and has an increased level cap, level 30.

To kick off the Open Beta, there will be a 30 minute LiveStream here (Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11am PT) where Mike Donatelli, product director, Chad Moore, creative director, Stephen Frost, producer and voice of DevSpeak, and Matt Mocarski, development director will be answering questions, discussing the state of the game and how Wildstar is going to take the MMO category by storm.

In addition to the LiveStream on Thursday, the team will be back on Friday with a six-hour developer LiveStream featuring a slew of content starting at 11am PT, including Jeremy Gaffney talking to the challenges they’ve had to overcome to get this game ready for launch on June 3, play-by-play of some exciting raids and Warplot activity, a sneak peek into higher level Open Beta content and if we’re lucky, some post launch content gameplay.

Friday’s developer livestream will also be part of a massive social AMA, run by Carbine, which will be opened up to every social media platforms. Developers will be taking questions from Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, Twitter, Forums, Twitch and Vine to name but a few.
