Quantum of the Seas will operate with unprecedented bandwidth using satellites launched by tech partner O3b Networks.  With speeds that match fast broadband connections onshore, guests can be online 24/7, no matter what personal device they bring onboard.  Guests can watch streaming video, check email, share images on social media and enjoy face-to-face video conversations - even in the middle of the ocean.

Quantum of the Seas will be delivering a bevy of SMART experiences, with robot bartenders shaking martinis and spinning screens. The robotic bartenders are staffed at the Bionic Bar and are activated by a series of sensors that detect when a guest enters the venue.  Guests place their orders via tablets and the robotic bartenders take it from there, involving guests in the drink creation process by showing them each and every step on a large display.  Guests who order drinks in Bionic Bar will be required to tap their RFID SeaPass card or WOWband at the bar.  Once tapped, a conveyer belt will move the drink forward for pickup.

Another exciting feature will be the SeaPlex SeaPod, an Xbox multiplayer arcade. Hosting 5 Xbox stations, the venue allows guests to play games with others on board, friends back on land, and even with other ships in the future. There will be a great cross-section of sports, first person shooter, action/adventure and other games, both in single player and multiplayer versions.

Quantum of the Seas will also take advantage of technology in functional forms as well.  Guest staterooms are equipped with device-charging USB outlets, as well as energy efficient and environmentally friendly lighting systems. Interior accommodations are outfitted with Virtual Balconies that display real-time sights and sounds of the sea through 80-inch LED screens, ensuring every stateroom has a view.
