Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, you’ll probably build simple structures to protect against nocturnal monsters. Later on, you might work with your friends to create wonderful, imaginative things.
It can also be about adventuring or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It’s pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary that pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.
The first “Doctor Who” character pack will be available for “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” in September ($2.99 USD/£1.99/€2.85/$2.95 AUS), and will include a character inspired by the Twelfth Doctor along with five other Doctors, their on-screen compatriots and some of the Doctors’ most formidable adversaries, including his archenemies, the Daleks.
Many of the other, recognizable characters from “Doctor Who’s” 50-year history will be introduced as time goes on, and each pack will include at least six Doctors to be released regularly through the eighth season.
