'Battlefield Hardline' (ALL) Open Beta Coming Back, To All Platforms - Screens

by Rainier on Jan. 14, 2015 @ 10:00 a.m. PST

Battlefield: Hardline switches the franchise standard of military themed action for a more urban environment with the player taking part in a police-oriented adventure.

Battlefield Hardline puts players right in the middle of the war on crime in the gritty and glamorous streets of Los Angeles and Miami, allowing gamers to live out their fantasy of being a cop or a criminal.

Delivering an all-new canvas for the best-in-class first person action gameplay the Battlefield franchise is known for, Battlefield Hardline sees Visceral Games bring its critically-acclaimed single player storytelling pedigree to provide an engaging story in a setting reminiscent of modern TV crime dramas. In multiplayer, fans will feel the thrill of the heist or the satisfaction of the ultimate 6bust with new twists including new modes, weapons, vehicles and gadgets.

Battlefield Hardline, powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, lets players trigger jaw-dropping Levolution events as they shoot out subterranean grow-labs, blow open bank vaults, or tear apart the streets of Los Angeles. Introducing a new arsenal of guns and gadgets, including stun guns, zip lines, and grappling hooks, players take on a bold new level of strategy as both cops and criminals on every map. Maintaining the epic vehicular combat fans have come to expect from Battlefield, Battlefield Hardline ushers in a fast and fresh urban approach to vehicles with loot-laden getaway motorcycles and nimble police choppers to navigate sprawling skyscrapers.

You've been asking about it, waiting for it, and while we can't tell you everything (like when it's coming), we're dropping the first details about the Battlefield Hardline beta today.

First things first: It's open to everyone and on all platforms - PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. So no matter where you roll or how you roll, you have a way to get in.

Bust out those new gadgets, form new strategies and showcase your skills on two different maps and modes. First, take a test drive of Hotwire, an all-new mode coming to Battlefield focused on combining all-out warfare with all-out speed. This is how you introduce yourself to the new flavor Visceral Games is bringing to Battlefield with Battlefield Hardline. Or you can go all-out in 64-player cops and criminals warfare in the oldie but goodie, Conquest.

While it's just a taste of the whole game, we want you to come in, take your jacket off, stay awhile. There won't be a cap on the max progression level so whether you’re busting criminals or fleeing the cops, unlock away. The beta is your shot to test the different classes, toy with different gadgets, and find your crew to take down your foes.

To be frank, we want you to play this beta to death. We need you to. This test is only going to make the game stronger, and help us take a look at ways we can ensure we deliver the most stable launch you deserve.

So keep that feedback coming and head to the Battlefield forums. We've got our ears to the ground, and we'll see you on the streets of Battlefield Hardline soon.

Players looking to head into this new playground with some extra gear can pre-order the Battlefield Hardline Deluxe Edition. With three in-game content packs as well as an additional 10 Battlepacks, the Battlefield Hardline Deluxe Edition ensures players will hit the streets ready for whatever comes at them.
