'Knight Squad' (ALL) Surpasses One Million Downloads

by Rainier on Nov. 25, 2015 @ 4:59 p.m. PST

Knight Squad drops players into one of several top-down arenas where they face off to see who will be the last knight standing, capture all of the flags, or score the most goals in an adapted form of full-contact (and full-slaughter) soccer.

Reminiscent of classic party games like Bomberman, Enter the fray in free-for-all battles, crush your opponents in team-based matches, and take the fight online with nine different game modes, each as frantic as the last.

Gather up to seven friends and pick your knight, then kick serious butt with 100% authentic medieval weapons such as large pointy swords, rapidfire crossbows, outrageous power-ups, and devastating laser guns―voted #1 most likely to cause irreparable damage to your buddy’s knight as well as your relationship with said buddy.

Xbox One players will be able to enjoy Knight Squad as part of November’s Games with Gold offer as soon as it launches, while Steam Early Access supporters will obtain Knight Squad: Extra Chivalrous for free. The Extra Chivalrous DLC contains four additional action-packed game modes―Prison Break, Arms Race, Soul Hunter, and Serial Killer―and three fabulous-looking knights.

Since Knight Squad’s launch on November 16, players have spent quite a bit of time kicking large stone soccer balls, chasing their friends with laser guns, trampling anything in their way atop speeding horses, and swearing profusely as one lone arrow ended their Juggernaut streak.

This week, the multiplayer hit surpassed one million downloads on Xbox One and Steam combined, and Chainsawesome Games would like to thank everyone who partied with Knight Squad so far. With more 3 million games played and over 77 million knights sent to their deaths, Knight Squad has quickly become the best way to dive back into classic top-down arena madness. It’s also the only way we can think of to find out how drill versus lightning staff would go down.

But the fun is just beginning! Knight Squad is out now on Steam ($14.99, but currently 30% off, and there’s still time to grab it absolutely free on Xbox One as part of Games with Gold. So gather up to seven friends, pick your knight, and prepare to battle it out I’ll-never-talk-to-you-again-style across nine different games modes.
