'Tales from the Borderlands' (ALL) Ep. 3 'Catch a Ride' Coming This Week - Screens

by Rainier on June 22, 2015 @ 5:31 p.m. PDT

Tales from the Borderlands is a story-driven episodic game series that will explore and expand on the stories of existing and all-new characters from the world of Borderlands 2's Pandora.

'Tales from the Borderlands' is a five part episodic game series set on the unforgiving world of Pandora after the events seen in Borderlands 2, this is a story full of Borderlands’ trademark humor, following two adventurers on their quest for greatness.

You’ll play as Rhys, a Hyperion ‘suit’ with dreams of being the next Handsome Jack, and Fiona, a Pandoran con artist looking to score her biggest ever swindle. Thrown together as unwilling partners in an adventure to recover cash they both think is theirs, their journey will take you on a wild ride where gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters are just some of the obstacles you’ll encounter, in this new take on the universe created by Gearbox Software.

While they themselves aren't vault hunters, both Rhys and Fiona will also come across vault hunters such as Zer0 and other characters from the world of Borderlands 2 throughout the series, as all events in Tales from the Borderlands will be part of the official Borderlands story canon.

After a dizzying escape from a very-near-almost-certain-death scenario (involving statuesque buttocks), Rhys and Fiona find themselves looking for another piece of the puzzle that will lead them to the untold riches of Vault key ownership. Lost in the mysterious jungle of an Atlas terraforming facility, Fiona finds help from an unexpected mentor, Rhys continues to share brain-space with the disembodied mind of a dead dictator, and love is in the air. Pursued by the ruthless criminal 'Queenpin' Vallory, and with very little help from Vaughn's accountancy skills (or stellar abs), getting anywhere near the Vault will be entirely up to you.

Each episode will be available via PlayStation Network for PS4/PS3 for US$4.99 or equivalent. Alternatively, consumers can purchase a Season Pass for US$19.99 or equivalent, which entitles players to all five episodes in the season as they become available. The season will also be available on Xbox Games Store for XOne/X360 for just US$4.99 or equivalent per episode. Players will also be able to purchase a Season Pass upgrade for US$14.99, which entitles players to Episodes 2-5 as they release.  The series will also be available for PC/Mac via the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other online digital distribution outlets as a Season Pass for US$24.99 or equivalent that includes entitlement to all five episodes as they release.
