'Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX' (3DS) Beyond the Music - New Screens

by Rainier on July 1, 2015 @ 12:01 p.m. PDT

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX is a 3D rhythm game featuring 48 full length versions of fan-favorite songs with multiple game modes and play styles.

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX features characters rendered in beautiful stereoscopic 3D, with two different rhythm game modes (button and touch) and three difficulties per song. Players are able to adjust difficulty via challenge and support items, change timing indicators and target icons, and swap out vocals in certain songs.

In collaboration with Good Smile Company, a popular Japanese figure company, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX features Miku and all of her friends in their Nendoroid figure style.  The game features 48 full-length versions of fan-favorite songs players can challenge themselves with by trying to match the rhythm in “Tap Mode” and “Button Mode,” each with multiple difficulty levels, which can be further augmented with challenge and support items.

But the rhythm game is just one facet of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX – players can also customize a virtual apartment for their favorite Miku character with decorations, seasonal items, and more. The Mirai Theater has replay functions so players can watch their favorite videos and add scrolling commentary. Choreograph entirely new routines by making new moves in the Dance Studio, and compose brand new song phrases in My Tune.

Players will enjoy a highly customizable experience with user customization options for button icons and sounds, character costumes and gear for the character rooms. Players can create and share personalized/customizable Profile Cards that show off who you are as well as create customized dance routines to the songs, your own musical phrase and personalized comments about their favorite in-game videos, all via StreetPass, and kept current via SpotPass. The game also utilizes the AR card and photo capabilities of the 3DS to bring characters to life in 3D.

When Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, Meiko, and Kaito take center stage in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, there will be 48 full-length songs to play through - but that's just a fraction of all the gameplay packed into the upcoming 3DS rhythm game!

For the U.S. release, the songs in Project Mirai DX are fully rendered in Miku's 3-D Nendoroid style, allowing players to customize their characters, or even swap them out in songs. One of the game's special features is being able to change the character who performs a particular song - if you account for the additional vocal tracks, the playlist balloons up to 79 songs in total.

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX will be available in stores and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99USD/$49.99CAD.
