Under the direction of Keisuke Kikuchi (Fatal Frame, Deception IV), Nights of Azure marks a new, darker direction for GUST studios while maintaining many of the gameplay elements adored by dedicated fans of the studio.
Set on an uncharted island that floats in the North Sea, Nights of Azure paints a picture of a land where nights are tormented by azure-blooded demons. In this kingdom of Ruswal, very few people leave their homes after the sun has set, let alone have the strength and skill to take on these powerful monsters. One of the best among these brave few is the protagonist, Arnice, a knight of great skill and power, who is assisted by her friend and priestess Lilysse in a quest to rid the land of demons. However, they soon find out that the solution to the island’s problems might not be as simple as defeating enemies in battle.
When she isn’t fending off shadowy shapes and demonic dragons on the streets of Ruswal, Arnice takes solace in a local hotel to rest, trade, and prepare for the inevitable coming of the next night. At the Hotel, Arnice can buy and sell weapons and a variety of gear to aid her in battle and, after certain quests have been completed, she can trade with Lloyd, the merchant, and order rare and powerful items. Arnice can also pick up quests from the Hotel’s proprietor, Simon, to earn money and various items, as well as gain interesting insight into the lore and backstory of Nights of Azure. Furthermore, Arnice can gain entry to the Arena via the Hotel, which can be used to hone her skills and earn special rewards!
Fans who pre-order the game through Amazon, EB Canada, and GameStop will receive an additional supporting character—Gust-Chan. Unlike other supporting characters in Nights of Azure, players can use Gust-Chan in battle!
