Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on his greatest adventure yet in a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. However, every treasure has its cost and this adventure will test Drake’s physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will feature new dynamic gameplay mechanics for combat and traversal, larger and more open environments to explore, and enhanced graphics and character animations to bring the game to life in a whole new way.
Set three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Nathan Drake has presumably left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn’t take long for adventure to come calling when Drake’s brother, Sam, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can’t resist.
On the hunt for Captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure, Sam and Drake set off to find Libertalia, the pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes players on a journey around the globe, through jungle isles, urban cities and snow-capped peaks on the search for Avery’s fortune.
After being delayed early 2015, and once more last December, it seems Naughty Dog needs yet more time to polish Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.
Therefore, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new worldwide release date of May 10, 2016.
We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest. The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.
On a better note, interested fans can help test Uncharted 4's multiplayer portion this coming weekend
The Multiplayer team here at Naughty Dog wants to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who participated in the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta this past December. It was really productive for us, and we’ve been poring over all the data and feedback we received from the Beta.
But we’re not done yet!
We need your help to do all we can to have a smooth launch of our online Multiplayer mode. We will be hosting a Multiplayer Stress Test this weekend where the goal is to get as many people as possible playing in the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer mode to test our networking, our matchmaking, and more.
Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Stress Test
- Start: March 4th, 2016, at 9:00 AM Pacific
- End: March 6th, 2016, at 11:59 PM Pacific
Please help us create the best multiplayer experience possible and participate in the stress test before launch. Also, and this is important because we want as many people playing as possible, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to participate.
The Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Stress Test client will be available later today on PlayStation Store so you can preload the Stress Test and jump straight into Multiplayer as soon as the servers go live this Friday! Please understand that this is strictly a stress test and by no means represents what the final multiplayer experience is going to be — we still have a lot to share between this stress test and launch.
