'Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition' (ALL) Adding More Playsets And Characters - Trailer

by Rainier on March 1, 2016 @ 11:39 p.m. PST

Disney Infinity 3.0 allows players to experience original adventures in some of their favorite Disney and Pixar worlds, and to build their own using the power of their imagination.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition will also introduce an all-new, 3-D Toy Box Hub that will make it easier for players to choose from a wider selection of gameplay experiences - including platform, racing, and farming simulation games. Two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games will bring action-adventure gameplay in Toy Box Takeover and kart racing in Toy Box Speedway, where kids and families can play with popular Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters together in a structured setting.

In 2016, Disney Infinity is shifting its development strategy.  Now that all of the company’s brands have been introduced to the platform, the 2016 focus is on adding more Play Sets and characters to the 3.0 Edition.

Marvel Battlegrounds  (available March 15th) is a four-player, arcade-style brawler that allows you to battle with up to three friends locally. You get to play in 12 levels across eight all-new arenas, including Knowhere and Wakanda. You’ll also be able to battle as any playable Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition): Marvel Super Heroes figure, making Marvel Battlegrounds the Play Set with the largest selection of playable characters.

For this Play Set, Disney worked closely with the amazing team at Marvel to develop an original story, while partnering with United Front Games on the development.

Three brand new iconic characters will be joining Captain America – The First Avenger, Hulkbuster and Ultron in the fray of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains: Black Panther, Ant-Man and Vision – with more on the way. The new line-up of characters includes costumes inspired by the upcoming film “Captain America: Civil War,” releasing in theaters May 6, 2016. Black Suit Spider-Man will be released as an individual character.

The 2016 slate will include four new Play Sets, one from each of the four key brands: Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. It will also include additional characters from the biggest events across the company, starting with the just-announced Baloo from “The Jungle Book.”

These additions begin today as we welcome Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from the world of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia. These new characters from the upcoming movie, plus four new Power Discs, are now available in stores worldwide.

Not long after Zootopia comes to theaters on March 4, Jon Favreau’s live-action remake of the classic Disney animated film, The Jungle Book will open. To mark the occasion, we wanted to go back into the Disney vaults and celebrate the animated classics that started it all by bringing Baloo, one of our favorite characters, into the game.

Baloo represents another instance where your feedback makes a difference. We’ve heard fans have been asking for more classic Disney animated characters, and it’s always on our minds as we move forward with Disney Infinity. The upcoming film was the perfect occasion to follow through on those requests and bring a beloved Disney character in Disney Infinity 3.0.

All figures and Power Discs from the 1.0 and 2.0 editions of Disney Infinity are compatible with Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition in the enhanced Toy Box and, for the first time, Power Discs will be sold in labeled franchise-specific packs of four. Additional Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars figures and Play Sets will be available throughout the fall.
