'Heroes & Generals' Update Adds New Weapons, Tweaks and Improvements - Trailer

by Rainier on April 13, 2016 @ 9:38 a.m. PDT

Heroes & Generals WWII is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first person shooter set in WW2, where Germany, the United States and the Soviet Union fight for victory in one grand persistent online war.

Heroes & Generals eliminates the formulaic baggage that weighs down the shooter genre by delivering satisfying strategic action in a full blown first-person shooter experience. Players are transported from the comfort of their browsers to authentic WWII battlefields, where they fight alongside thousands of gamers for persistent progression and military supremacy.

Each player in Heroes & Generals chooses their own destiny. You might join the Axis and climb the ranks as a foot soldier, firing off countless rounds in epic battles for crucial landmarks. Or perhaps you’ll become a general in the US army and accept the task of deploying resources and reinforcements across a vast strategic map.

Either way your decisions and actions fundamentally impact the game. Whether you play a fearless infantryman blazing the trenches, a hotshot pilot renowned for precision bombing runs, a brutal gunner assigned to a rumbling tank battalion, or the ace commander directing it all from strategic command – every active soldier contributes to an evolving online war that will soon expand to smartphones and tablets as well.

The US M1941 Johnson Light Machine Gun is a fast and effective weapon with a high rate of fire and a short reload time. It was created at the same time as the German Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 and the two teams of engineers coincidentally came up with similar designs making, them equal opponents. The US M1914 Johnson, as a light and reliable weapon, was first given to the Devil’s Brigade for their special operations behind enemy lines. Fun fact: this legendary brigade and their reckless fighting style even served as inspiration for Tarantino’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’.

The German faction now has the P38 Parabellum, which is widely regarded as the first modern handgun and pistols today are still being built on its design principles. This outstanding handgun is known from Inglorious Basterds as Oberst Hans Landa’s personal pistol. The top tier pistol has a high damage output, which makes it even better than its iconic little brother, the P08.

The US Infantry, Paratroopers and Recons have received new uniforms in an experimental camouflage pattern and which comes in three colour variations; ‘Hunter’ Fall, ‘Hunter’ Spring and ‘Hunter’ Swamp. This will help soldiers on the battlefield not to be spotted easily - an advantage not to be underestimated!

The ‘Churchill’ update is named, by popular demand of the community, after the British soldier Mad Jack Churchill, also encloses various weapon tweaks and improvements. The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 can now be fired while running and general changes have been made to selected weapons in order to improve the overall gameplay experience and balance.
