'Duelyst' Expansion Will Add New Generals, Minions, Spells, Artifacts, And More

by Rainier on Oct. 24, 2017 @ 12:00 a.m. PDT

Duelyst is a turn-based multiplayer strategy game, blending tactical combat, squad building, and competitive play.

Duelyst lets players choose from six factions, each with their own unique minions, positioning capabilities and play styles to unleash battle in a 1v1 match between two online opponents. The game features over 350 collectible battle units and spells and a rich dynamic storyline offering infinite possibilities and replayability.

Featuring distinct and strikingly beautiful character designs and game environments created by lead artists Glauber Kotaki (Rogue Legacy) and Christophe Ha (Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Diablo III) and a veteran game design team, including creative director and producer Keith Lee (Diablo III, Ratchet & Clank) and legendary board game designer Eric Lang (XCOM, Blood Rage, Dice Masters, Warhammer, Game of Thrones, The Others: 7 Sins), Duelyst offers the best of tactical combat gameplay mixed with strategic collectible card game depth. Competitive matches last between five and ten minutes, focusing on fast-paced high action and exciting decision-making.

The new Immortal Vanguard expansion will introduce new Generals, new Minions, Spells, and Artifacts, as well as a brand new “Build” mechanic. Immortal Vanguard will be launching on November 14th.

The Immortal Vanguard expansion introduces six new generals, one per faction. This is the first group of generals to be introduced to Duelyst since the game launched in April of 2016, and each general will command a new unique bloodbound spell. More than 100 new cards will also be introduced in the expansion, and will have synergy with these generals.

BNEA is also kicking off the Immortal Vanguard “Spoiler Season.” Starting today, players will see a new card revealed every weekday on the game’s FacebookTwitter and Reddit, as well as the game’s forums until the expansion release. For players eager to unlock the new Generals early, Duelyst will be offering a pre-sale on orbs that will give early access to the new generals on October 24th.

Key Features:

  • Customize Your Battle Squad: Select from a roster of 100+ battle units and spells, each with different stats and abilities that interact in unique ways during combat. No squad or battle will play out the same.
  • Skill-Based Tactical Combat: Duelyst is about unit positioning, understanding your squad's capabilities, anticipating your opponent and maintaining board control. At its core, Duelyst is a tactical tabletop board game without all the manual math calculations.
  • Real-Time or Asynchronous Gameplay: Players can choose from multiple game modes, including Ranked Draft or Ranked Normal, where each turn lasts 90 seconds in a multiplayer head-to-head synchronous live game. Or players can choose asynchronous, non-ranked matches with no limit to the length of time for each turn in the Practice Casual mode. In Single Player mode, players can challenge themselves against the computer AI and progress by unlocking new battle units and spells.
  • Competitive Multiplayer: Find equally matched players to play head-to-head anytime in Ranked Normal or Draft mode on various competitive tiers.
  • Short Sessions: Each game session is designed to be played in less than 30 minutes, so players can engage in competitive skill-based games without investing hours towards a single session.
  • Unlockables: Winning multiplayer matches and completing objectives in Single Player will unlock new battle units, spells, and alternate skins. Every battle unit and spell is earned by spending time playing the game.
