Super Mighty Power Man (SMPM) is greatly inspired by the famous Mega Man game series as well as others including: Castlevania, Contra, Duck Tales, Kirby, Super Mario Bros. and more recent ones like VVVVVV, Retro City Rampage and Shovel Knight. Besides being a true homage to all games of the NES legendary gaming era, it is above all else a tribute to the renowned Blue Bomber and a testament to our passion for the games that marked our childhood.

Play as Corey, a gutsy kid who accidentally finds himself caught in a most unexpected adventure to save the galaxy. Helped by a clumsy extraterrestrial robot named Robby, and armed with a mysterious device called ‘The Power Grasp’, Corey must defend the Earth from the spreading evil forces of General Mok. He will need to fight (and jump) his way through deadly environments, hordes of monsters, and other hazardous traps to free occupied planets from the tyranny of his enemy’s lieutenants.

‘The Power Grasp’ grants Corey superhuman powers, allowing him to merge with other lifeforms and become one of the many forms of Super Mighty Power Man!

Super Mighty Power Man players can switch between 8 different suits: human boy (default), ant, eel, falcon, cat, crab, ape, or the 8th suit which is still a secret. Each suit has its own weapon and special moves. For instance, the Falcon suit allows you to glide for some time and perform a high jump, while the Eel suit allows you to swim and freely move underwater.

On November. 14, 2017, Box Hedge Games launched their Super Mighty Power Man kickstarter campaign, looking for €50,000, but due to luke warm reception (aka lower than expected backers) the French developer decided to cancel the crowd funding campaign. On a positive note, they found possible publisher support.

Dear backers,

As you may all have noticed by now we have been quiet for the past few days. One of the reasons for that is because we have been approached by several publishers. We are currently discussing with them alternatives on how to secure the development and the release of Super Mighty Power Man. Even though no contract has been signed yet, we are confident enough to say that the project will get funded and published at some point, which is a great news!

In addition, another reason for our silence was the reception of our Kickstarter campaign. It is right to say that we haven’t succeeded in interesting enough people with our pledge tiers and late release date. Unlike many Kickstarter campaigns that overpromise and end up being late, we weren’t willing to follow a similar path. We are assured, based on the overall interest and tons of positive feedback we got from the press, backers and players that if we had gone crazy by announcing loads of physical rewards and an early release date on all platforms at once, our campaign would have probably succeeded. Nevertheless, it would also have been totally unrealistic to publicize such claims especially coming from an indie studio as small as ours. Therefore, we took the decision to cancel the campaign.
