'Deep Rock Galactic' (ALL) Accepting Open Alpha Weekend Sign-ups - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 3, 2017 @ 8:18 a.m. PDT

Deep Rock Galactic is a procedurally generated first person co-op shooter for up to 4 players.

As a team of veteran dwarven space miners, you must go on missions for your corporate overlords and venture into the deepest, most dangerous cave systems of the most hostile planet ever discovered.

Experience teamwork as you’ve never experienced it in a co-op game before. Complete missions and gather ever more riches. Expand your roster of class-based skills, unlock new gear and weapons, and take on the worst monsters the galaxy has to offer.

Deep Rock Galactic enforcers Coffee Stain Publishing and Ghost Ship Games announce that they need equipment tested by as many dwarves as possible. The testing initiative invites everyone who has signed up before midnight on November 6th to join the Steam Open Alpha from November 9th to 12th, experience with firearms highly desireable.

After this, all testing initiatives for the broader population of Earth will cease until early 2018 when Deep Rock Galactic lands on Steam Early Access and Game Preview on the Xbox/Windows 10 Store.

To ensure player safety in the Open Alpha, Deep Rock Galactic has limited access to a smaller set of the caves of Hoxxes IV to First Dive, Lost Overhang and Infested Chasms, but for the most daring of dwarves there is a brand new mission type that needs testing. In ‘Motherlode’ players are invited to join their bearded brethren in gathering unique and invaluable resources in an extremely perilous Glyphid breeding ground! The smaller cave introduced in Motherlode puts players in constant danger as hordes of the dwarf hungry monsters constantly attack.

As well as the new perils introduced to PC players in the Open Alpha, adventurous dwarves will be able to trial the Deep Rock Galactic experience on Xbox One for the first time at Paris Games Week from November 1st to 5th. There are also rumours circulating amongst Deep Rock Galactic personnel of an Xbox One Closed Alpha that’s soon to be recruiting console proficient dwarves, find a Deep Rock Galactic representative at Paris Games Week to find out more.

To join the Deep Rock Galactic Open Alpha testing initiative on Steam, sign up at the official website before midnight on November 6th (11:59 PM - CEST)
