Sony has revealed on its official website that, after 10 years, it will stop producing PS3s in Japan.
The only remaining model being offered is the Charcoal Black 500GB version, and once that is sold out Sony will halt further shipments, as well as stop releasing updates and end support for PS3 titles on the Playstation Store.
The news should not really come as a surprise since Sony usually puts a 10-year life expectancy on its consoles, and previous consoles were also discontinued after a decade.
