Jump Stars shakes up the genre by tasking players with simultaneous competitive and cooperative goals for the good of the group – while still ensuring that each person’s individual achievements are tallied for bragging rights at the end.
In this bizarre game show players compete in a selection of unique minigames, each of which wraps a simple premise around a devious twist to create levels that will keep players coming back for more. Cooperate as a team to earn high scores before jumping, punching, breaking, munching, exploding and crunching teammates out of the way to steal first place.
“Jump Stars takes the party game premise we all love and tweaks it by adding cooperative and competitive play to bring a fresh approach to the genre,” said Jordan Morris, creative director of Jamit Games. “Knowing when to work together and when to attack teammates makes for an unpredictable experience that will test friendships and see who will emerge as the star of Jump Stars.”
In Jump Stars players strive to reach "The Gauntlet" for fame and fortune by earning enough team score in each of the four random mini-games chosen by the ominously cuckoo host in "Tournament." Or they can build a line-up of challenges by selecting from an array of unique mini-games across 25 different settings in "My Show."
Jump Stars will launch digitally on PS4 on June 6th, and Xbox and PC (Steam) on June 9th, priced $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99.
