While ARK: Survival Evolved focuses on hunting and taming dinosaurs, the new ARK Park VR experience will give players the opportunity to truly appreciate and understand dinosaurs in their natural habitat.
Set in the Jurassic era, ARK Park is an interactive experience that will fulfill anyone’s dreams of entering a world where living, breathing dinosaurs are still roaming the earth. Players will participate in a multiplayer tour, so they can share the visceral gameplay and the thrill of witnessing dinosaurs up-close and personal. ARK Park aims to be the most true to life realization of a virtual reality attraction, filled to the brim with fascinating Jurassic creatures. Everything showcased in ARK Park is designed to be as realistic as possible to enhance the educational benefits of the experience.
Snail Games Tianqi Wu, Vice President and Guohan Tang, Art Director of ARK Park took the stage at NVIDIA’s press conference to discuss the game’s creative concept and development process, utilizing NVIDIA’s unparalleled technology. ARK Park pushes the limits to create a one-of-a-kind immersive experience through high definition texture mapping, NVIDIA’s MultiRes technology and the Ambisonics technology by Wwise. The game is now fully optimized to run smoothly using GTX 960 graphics and above.
The new trailer revealed a first look of the tower defense combat system in ARK Park. After players collect enough resources, unlock engrams and forge their weapons, they can head out to defend the attacks of raging dinosaurs. Players enter the world, first arriving at the Space Station, where they will customize their avatar and choose between single and multi-player experiences. They’ll participate in a multiplayer tour, so they can share the visceral gameplay and the thrill of witnessing dinosaurs up-close and personal.
Powered by the Unreal Engine 4 and a blend of real-life imagery and 3D textures, ARK Park delivers an incredibly engaging, immersive experience that’s sure to shake up the VR entertainment market.
ARK Park will be available on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR in Q4 2017.
